With 200 runs on board at 45 over mark , White’s splendid effort made sure Aussies cross the 250 run mark and ended up fetching 84 runs in last five overs with White unbeaten on 89 off just 49 deliveries. He overshadowed Clarke’s wonderful work of 111 not out and the century stand with Hussey (69 off 77). This was repeated again in India’s chase with Virat Kohli’s 118 and a century stand with Yuvraj, while Raina was brilliant with 49 ball unbeaten 71 runs cameo.

Sehwag with another blazing knock of 110 off 93 balls helped India post a decent total of 223 with Nehra and Praveen Kumar making sure New Zealand were on back-foot with their opening spell of very tight line and length bowling. Munaf Patel joined in with 3 wickets to reduce them to 80 for 9. A quick fire cameo of 52 off 35 from Mills got New Zealand to 118 before he holed one to long on. India wins with 105 runs and a bonus point to make it to the finals with Sri Lanka

Glimpse of what would be the day like for Sri Lanka began the first ball of the day ; Tharanga’s off stump disturbed by a peach of a delivery from Praveen Kumar, pitching on leg -middle and out swinging to disturb the unsure opener’s stick. Nehra started his spell with swing, accuracy and bounce, but it was the extra pace that made Sangkarra to hit a skier which was easily grabbed by Ojha at mid-wicket. Mahela didnt look comfortable either and wickets kept falling regularly at one end with Dilshan trying to save some grace on the other. Sri lankans were reduced to 7 for 100 odd runs and a cameo from Randiv (43 off 61) helped Sri lanakans post 170 on board.

Sadly, this was not the only shocking cameo by Randiv. Not without the initial jitters of Kohli brilliantly caught by Sangakarra on nought and Rohit sharma wrongly adjudged LBW without troubling the scorers either, India managed to cruise to a comfortable win and a bonus point with the help of Sehwag’s brilliant century – well almost a century and good support from Raina and Dhoni.

With India needing 5 runs and Sehwag on 99*, Randiv’s first ball went for 4 byes. The nect run came off a No-Ball. And shocker of a illegal delivery it was with Randiv’s back foot almost crossing the crease. Nevertheless Sehwag hit that delivery for a six at long-off and completed yet another century the very Sehwag style with a Six only to find out that match was completed with the no ball and the six runs werent counted for Sehwag’s total.

Sehwag is a brilliant player and will cross more milestones and break records and its not about being deprived of a century .Batting for 3 days scoring 900 runs and killing the chance of result for personal records wasn’t enough for SriLankan cricket team. A sport where team and country is always placed first before individual performances and called a Gentleman’s game, this is what the Sri-Lankan cricket team sets as an example.

What Virendra Sehwag started in first innings with a century and grabbing the srilankan openers wicket, well supported by mithun and mishra’s 70 run stand, finally levelled the 3 test series with brilliant half centuries from Sachin and Raina and of course a well deserved Man of the match for Very Very Special Laxman’s ton.

A change in fortunes was the theme of this test with both the teams grabbing the upper hand every now and then but not so impressive captaincy and field placements from Sangakarra on the final day allowed sachin and laxman to milk the bowlers for easy singles and take the game away from the side.
